This rare engraving by John Sartain, after Da Cortona, measures 17 x 11 3/8 inches on heavy weight laid type paper. Part of a fresco painted by Da Cortona in the Duomo at Orvieto Cathedral in Italy. Published in London by William Young Ottley in May of 1825. Plate number at top right.

The image was made on the Columbia Line's Bogota or Columbia. The Haitian crew used soft volcanic tufa to scrub down the wooden decks. The bulldog, center, was the vessel's mascot.

This etching by Arthur C. Taylor measures 5 x 7 inches. Printed in an edition of 100, on medium weight paper with wide margins, it is plate signed and also pencil signed, title and numbered on the lower margin. A very atmospheric image created by Taylors' placement of a richly inked wooded foreground illuminated by the light filtering through the trees in the background.

This is an original etching by Ludovic N Lepic.  The title is Les Patineurs, created and printed in 1869, hand signed in blue crayon lower left.  The image measures 5 1/2X10 7/8 inches.   Printed on a chine colet adhered to a thicker sheet of wove type paper.  Some toning on the outer edges of the borders and on the back of the sheet.
