Ribot.  The tile is: Le Dejeuner des Cuisiniers, it was created and printed circa 1865.  Translated it reads: (The Cooks' Lunch, Culinary Scene # 5)  "is the fifth scene from a set of original etchings portraying the life in the kitchen's of  a Parisian restaurant.  Published by Cadart, Paris.  The image measures 8 1/4X11 1/4 inches.  Plate signed.

This engraving by George Vertue of the Chief Justice, Sir Matthew Hale, measures 12 x 7 inches. Created in 1735 from an original painting by Michael Wright, it has inscribed on the lower margin "Michael Wright pinx.; From an Original painting in Guildhall, London; and George Vertue Sculp. 1735." Hale was a well-known and respected judge and jurist and his writings have been cited as recently as 1993.

This is an original etching by British artist Percival Gaskell.  The title is: Penmaen Pool Bridge, North Wales.  It is hand signed in pencil, the image measures 5X6 3/4 inches.  "Penmaenpool toll bridge is a wooden toll bridge built in 1879 to replace a ferry crossing. It links the A493 running along the south bank of the Mawddach to the A496 running along the north."

"The Post Office" measures 9 3/4 x 13 3/4 inches and is pencil signed and numbered. Schutz was founder of the NY Graphic Society. Born in Germany and living there for many years, including some spent in the German Army in WW1, Schutz emigrated to the US in 1924 and attended the Art Student's League of NY, working with Joseph Pennell.

This image measures 6 7/8 x 9 7/8 inches and is pencil signed, c.1930. Philip Kappel was born in Hartford, Connecticut and educated at the Pratt Institute in New York. He was employed as an artist for several shipping companies and much of his work documents these ships and their sailors. At age 26, Kappel was the youngest person ever admitted to "Who's Who in America."

Etching, drypoint, image size 9 7/8 x 11 7/8 inches, 1935, pencil signed l.r. "Philip Kappel". Selected for "Fine Prints of the Year", 1936, pl.74. The image was made on the Columbia Line's Bogota or Columbia. The Haitian crew used soft volcanic tufa to scrub down the wooden decks. The bulldog, center, was the vessel's mascot.
