Prints

This is a scarce original drypoint etching by British artist William Russell Flint.  The title is: "Eve", it was created and printed in 1930.  The image measures 7 1/4X10 1/8 inches.  Signed in a sepia ink lower border, printed on an antique laid type paper, identified in the artists hand as from 1753.  This image is numbered as LXVI.  Printed with a brown toned ink.  Some toning from an early window mat but does not affect the image area.  Collectors or printers information on the back of the sheet.

This is a fine hand signed etching by British artist James McBey.  The title is: A Mirage, it was one of his Venetian series, created and printed in , 1928 in an edition of only 76.  This image measures 11 13/16X14 3/8 inches.  This image was published in Fine Prints of the Year in 1928.  Fine use of plate tone in the sea and sky.

This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Jacques Villon. The title of this work is: "Maternite", it was created and printed in 1952, it is editioned as 15/75. The image measures 11X7 1/2 inches.

This is an original color aquatint etching by Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir.  The title of this work is: "Fleet Street,London", circa 1930, one of his best works.  The view is of St.Pauls and Ludgate Hill from Fleet Street.

The image measures 21 1/4X17 inches.  very nice condition, pencil signed in the lower left border, printed on a wove type paper.  It appears in the Kasimir catalog as image number 10.

This is an original hand colored lithograph by American artist Don Freeman.  The title is: "To see the mayor".  This image was created and printed in 1937 in an edition of 25, far fewer were hand colored by the artist.  This image is pencil signed, the image measures 12 1/8X9 inches.  According to the catalog: "On his weekly radio program, Mayor La Guardia encouraged new Yorkers to bring their complaints to him personally.  Freeman drew a group of constituents making appointments with the mayor's secretary"  This lithograph is framed.

This is an original etching and aquatint by French artist Louis Legrand.  This image from his La Petite Classe series created in 1908 is titled Premiere Danseuse.  This impression is the 4th state of 6.  It is numbered as 1/100.  The image measures  15 3/4X11 1/4 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right, This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.  Published by G. Pellet, Paris, red stamp lower right border.

This is a fine original drypoint etching by American artist Walter Tittle.  The title is: Church of the Heavenly Rest, which was built in New York City in 1929.  This etching is hand  signed in ink and measures 12X10 inches, nicely framed with archival materials.  A very rich impression, Tittle at his very best...

A dramatic, ethereal print with a wide tonal range, using light to convey that the dancer is about to go onstage.

Signed and dated 1929 in the lower right. Plate signed and dated in the lower right, plate titled in the lower left. Second and final state. Edition of 100. #25 in his French Church series. Catalog: Fletcher 218. C. 1929. Plate measures 15 x 9 inches on 17 1/8 x 11 1/2 inch laid paper. John Taylor Arms was one of the foremost American printmakers of the 20th century, known for his exquisite compositions and exacting details.

This is a fine rich impression of the well known Corot etching Souvenir of Italy, this was first created in 1863, and  printed in three states, including later ones with the publishers information at the bottom edge of the sheet.  This one does not have that so may be an earlier or possibly later  impression.  The image measures 12 9/16X9 3/8 inches, printed on an antique laid type paper.  Very fine condition, matted not framed.  This image appears in the catalog as C.5...

Aquatint, image size 10 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches, 1918, cat. Hardie-163, pencil signed. One of Short's largest aquatints, this scene depicts two fishermen on the Bure at Stokesby Ferry near Acle in Norfolk.

This is  a finely detailed  etching by British artist Stanley Badmin.  The title is Richmond Bridge, created and printed in 1931 in an edition of 50, this impression is 4/50.  The image measures 4 3/8X6 3/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil S.R. This is a life time impression of the well known etching by Pierre Auguste Renoir, titled: Femme, Nue Couchee, Nude woman reclining facing right.  Created and printed in 1906, this impression done on a laid type sheet with the Fortuna watermark from the original printing.  The image measures 5 5/8X7 5/8 inches on a buff toned sheet.  Very fine condition.  Very light even toning over the image only, possibly as originally presented.  The image appears in the Melot catalog as image number R-14
