This is an incredible rare impression of the well known Panama Canal etching, The Guard Gate, Gatun Lock.  It was created and printed in 1912. Both etching and drypoint, with a rich burr in the shadow areas.   Pencil signed and annotated "imp" meaning that he printed this impression on his own press.  It is printed on a blue toned laid type paper,  Very fine condition, richly printed.  The image measures 12 1/2X9 1/2 inches.  It appears in the Pennell catalog as Wuerth number 627.  The edition is about 60 impressions.

This is an original drypoint etching by British artist William Russell Flint.  The title is Aragonese String Makers, it was created and printed in 1930.  It is editioned as impression number XXVII...  The image measures 9 1/2X14 3/4 inches.  Printed on an early laid type paper, R.G. 1820.  The image is signed in sepia ink lower right border.  A very rich inking with extensive use of plate tone in the sky and land.  A beautiful impression.  This image was reproduced  for  the book "Fine Prints of the Year, 1931, published by Malcolm Salaman

This is an original pencil signed etching by British artist Augustus John (1878-1961)  This etching is titled: Rambling By the Lake, it was created and printed in  1909 this impression is numbered as 23/50.  The image measures 7X5 inches, printed on an antique watermarked laid type paper.  In the lower border its annotated Plate no. 116 and then titled and editioned.  Very nice condition.

This is an original etching and aquatint by British artist Laura Knight.  The title is: Dressing Room no.2.  This pencil signed etching was created and printed in 1923 in an edition of 55 impressions.  The image measures 7X9 inches,  Printed on a medium weight laid type paper.  A very rich impression.

This is a fine original lithograph by American artist William S. Schwartz.  The title is: Portrait of the Artist's Wife and her Grandfather.  THis lithograph was created and printed in 1929.  The image measures 21 1/4X16 5/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower left and also signed within the plate.  William S. Schwartz was born in Smorgon, Russia, February 23, 1896.  He immigrated to the USA at the age of 17 and became a successful artist moving to Chicago and studying at the Art Institute.

This is a fine original drypoint etching by British artist Francis Dodd.  It is a portrait of the artist Charles Cundall R.A.  It was created and printed in 1926, hand signed in pencil lower border.  The image measure 18X12  inches. Nicely framed with archival materials.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This is an original etching and aquatint by French artist Louis Legrand.  This image from his Les Petites du Ballet is titled: Le Deshabillage, it was created and printed in 1893.  This impression, pencil signed, published by Gustave Pellet in Paris, the red stamp lower right border.  this impression is also inscribed as "Epreuvre  d' artiste" lower left.  The image measures 14 1/2X8 1/2 inches. This image is from the 10th state of 10.  This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.

This is a fine original etching and aquatint by American artist Gottlob L. Briem. This rare image is titled Empire State Building, N.Y.C.  It was created and printed circa 1930.  It is pencil signed and inscribed "to Elmerine (Finn) a Vermont artist with best wishes".  The image measures 14X9 inches,  printed on a medium weight wove type paper.

This is a fine original color etching by Austrian artist Luigi Kasimir.  The scene is the New York Stock Exchange, created and printed circa 1932.  This image is hand signed in pencil and numbered 29/100.  The image measures 17 1/4X10 5/8 inches.  This etching is nicely framed with the early label from J. Assenheim in New York.

This is a fine original etching by American Ex Pat, Mary Cassatt.  The title is: Looking into the Hand Mirror, No. 3.  It was created and printed in 1905, done in drypoint on an antique thin laid type paper, unsigned as typical of this image.  The image measures 8 3/4X5 1/4 inches.  This image appears in the Breeskin catalog as image number 202.  Very light toning to the sheet, some imperfections in the paper from when it was produced, unobtrusive .  A fine impression of this well known image.  "Mary Stevenson Cassatt was an American painter and printmaker. She was born in Allegheny, Pennsylvania, but lived much of her adult life in France, where she befriended Edgar Degas and exhibited with the Impressionists. "  Nice custom Framed..

This is a fine industrial etching by American artist   Otto Kuhler.   "Monster & Midgets". 1928. The image measures 9 3/8 x 12 7/8. inches.  Etching. Signed in pencil. Edition: 75. Excellent condition. Although best known for his industrial Designs, Otto Kuhler  is well regarded as a fine artist and draftsman. Born in Germany, Kuhler was the sole heir to his family's successful steel business, Kuhler Forges. After WWI however, the business and his family's fortune were in ruins. After living briefly in Dusseldorf, and partly due to the advice of friend Joseph Pennell, he took up etching and emigrated to the States in 1923. Otto Kuhler's etchings of begrimed industry sprang from the same optimistic response to technology that led to his colorful streamlined designs for the Milwaukee, Lehigh and other railroads in the 1930's. "This merging of industry and art proved so successful that after years of submitting designs, a locomotive based on Kuhler's designs was built. The engine, Hiawatha, rolled out of the Schenectady, New York yard in May, 1935. It was the first streamlined steam locomotive to be built from scratch in America. This signaled the start of the next phase of his career- as a successful industrial designer."

This is a fine original mezzotint by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden.  This image is "Grayling Fishing" created and printed in 1897.  This etching, pencil signed lower right measures 7 1/2X11 3/4inches.  This is the second state of five.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  The image appears in the Schneiderman catalog as image number 227.  A fine rich impression.  Haden was an avid fisherman, this was one of his subjects, the famous fishing streams in the United Kingdom.  Which included On the Test, The Compleat Angler and Fishermen on the Thames.

Aquatint, image size 10 1/2 x 16 1/4 inches, 1918, cat. Hardie-163, pencil signed. One of Short's largest aquatints, this scene depicts two fishermen on the Bure at Stokesby Ferry near Acle in Norfolk.

This is a fine award winning etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  The title is: Reflections at Finchingfield, it was created and printed in  1938.  From his English Series, this is the 2nd state of two, printed by David Strang in an edition of 100 as inscribed on the etching lower left also hand signed and dated in pencil lower right border.  This large etching measures 7 1/16X17 1/8 inches.  Found in the Fletcher catalog as image number 311.  This image won prices from the Chicago Society of Etchers, the Lotus Club and Northwest Printmakers.  One of his finest images with the  incredible reflection found in the pond below the buildings. ( our photo doesnt show a fraction of the image on the right side, this etching is overall complete with good borders all around.

This is an original pencil signed and numbered lithograph by American artist Stow Wengenroth.  The title is: Homeward Bound, Port Clyde, created and printed in 1956 in an edition of 45.  The image measures 10 3/4X15 5/16 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Stuckey catalog as image number 232.
