This is a very rare original etching by French artist Charles Emile Jacque. The title of this work is: "The Large Sheepfold (La Grande Bergerie)" It was created and printed in 1859 with an image that measures 15 1/4X20 7/8 inches. One of his largest etchings. This is the second of two states with the edition of 129. This image is made up of etching and drypoint and according to the catalog there is also some burin work in the image. Printed on a wove type paper, this etching was originally sold by Kennedy gallery in New York. There was a partial label on the back. This etching is pencil signed lower right, "Ch Jacque".....

This etching is titled: "La Fille a sa tante", the girl with her aunt....This etching was created and printed in 1893 in an edition of 100. It came from his series "Les Petites du Ballet", (the Little ones of Ballet). The image measures 14 1/4X8 3/4 inches. Printed on a medium weight wove type paper, pencil signed lower right border. This image appears in the Arwas catalog as image number 77.

Etching, image size 6 x 9 1/8 inches, cat: Melot- C.7, later printing without Cadart lettering, possibly after it was removed. This is a very nice impression with wide borders, printed on a medium weight cream colored laid type paper. This atmospheric image from Corot's series of Italian landscapes is a great example of his ability to capture the life and movement of the scene with loose spontaneous lines and rich tones.
