Printed on a Arches laid type paper. This image appears in the Manet catalog as image number 64. Théodore Faullain de Banville (14 March 1823 – 13 March 1891) was a French poet and writer. His work was influential on the Symbolist movement in French literature in the late 19th century.

This framed lithograph by Engelmann after Vernet, measures 17 x 10 3/4 inches. It is plate signed and titled on the lower margin. Godefroy Engelmann was born in 1788 in Mühlhausen, France and trained in Switzerland and France at La Rochelle and Bordeaux. He studied painting and sketching in Jean-Baptiste Regnault’s atelier in Paris. In the summer of 1814 he traveled to Munich, Germany to study lithography and is largely credited with bringing lithography to France.
This airy, impressionistic line etching depicts a man fishing in a forested landscape. Etched circa 1900, its measurements are 5 7/8 x 7 3/4 inches and it is signed "A. Legros" lower right. Provenance: Baldwin-Wallace College.
This is one of the most impressionistic mezzotint studies created by British artist Sir Francis Seymour Haden. It is titled: "Grayling Fishing", it was created and printed in 1897. It is state II/V. This is a beautiful impression but does have a long touched up scratch on the right side of the composition. Pencil signed, by Haden and also signed by Golding, his printer. There are printing instructions on the lower left of the border by Golding. The image measures 7 1/2X11 3/4 inches.

A romantic original etching by Louis Legrand, image size 12 1/4 x 18 1/4 inches, 1895, edition of 50, state V/V, cat: Arwas-102, pencil signed and numbered. Louis Legrand was an important artist of 'La Belle Epoch' in France of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. He specialized in etchings of the women of Paris, from the wealthy elite to dancers and prostitutes. He studied with Felician Rops, and his work shows the influence of Rops' sometimes dark and erotic imagery. His work has also been compared to that of Toulouse-Lautrec, although in fact much of Legrand's work predates that of Toulouse-Lautrec, including a series of drawings and etchings that Legrand made of the Moulin Rouge and it's dancers.
Printed by Delatre in Paris, this Felix Bracquemonde frontispiece measures 14 x 9 3/4 inches, published by Alfred Cadart, Paris. Created in 1865, this bold allegorical etching was created as the frontispiece to a volume of the renowned periodical of the Société des Aqua-Fortistes, a group promoting etching as a fine art. Richly inked on watermarked Aqua-Fortistes laid paper, which was made especially for these publications.
