This is an original etching by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title of this etching is "Madison Avenue" also known as "Rebuilding Madison Avenue".  This etching was created and printed in 1923 in an edition of 50 impressions.  This proof is hand signed in pencil by the artist with the "imp" after his name meaning that he printed this impression himself.  It is printed on an antique laid type paper.  The image measures 12X9 1/8 inches.  The image appears in the Wuerth catalog as image number 811.

Impression with the engraver's address

This is an original etching by British artist Edmund Blampied.   The title is: "The Vraic Season (No 1)" , it was created and printed in 1936 in an edition of 125 for the American College Society of Print Collectors.  The image measures 12X14 1/4 inches.  Very fine condition, hand signed in ink.  Vraic is seaweed that was harvested on the Channel Islands and used for potato fields.  The usual method was gathering it up with horse drawn carts.  A rich impression.

This is an original pencil signed etching of New York City by American artist Joseph Pennell.  The title is: Trinity Church from the River, 1904.  The image measures 11 3/4X8 3/8 inches.  Printed in an edition of 25.  This image appears in the Kennedy Catalog as image number 324...  This etching was last sold by Kennedy Galleries in New York in 1920.  This image is the 2nd state with some changes mostly in the dramatic sky.

A well inked impression with plate toning and a rich drypoint burr. Plate measures 5 1/4 x 7 inches on 7 1/2 x 11 inch laid paper. State IV/V. Catalog: Delteil 1. Published by the Gazette des Beaux-Arts in 1903 to illustrate the obituary article on Corot by Louis Gonse. Printed by A. Salmon in Paris, France in 1875. Plate signed in the lower left. The plate for this image was discovered by Felix Bracquemond in a box of nails in Corot's home.

This is an original pencil signed lithograph by American artist Stow Wengenroth.  The title is Spirit of New England, a scene from Kennebunk, Maine done in November of 1956.  This image measures 9 1/8X17 13/16 inches.  Printed in an edition of only 45 impressions.  This image appears in the Stuckey catalog as image number 234.  This interior was made from the Congregational Church , Kennebunk, Maine.

This is a pencil signed lithograph by American artist Joseph Pennell, as part of his Panama Canal series that he created in 1912.  This image is titled:  A Native Village.  The image measures 16 1/2X22 1/8 inches, on a sheet of Fabiano laid type paper which measures 20 1/2X 25 1/2 inches.

This is a fine woodcut print by Jamaican artist Albert Huie.  This image is hand signed in pencil and titled: Seaside.  The image measures 9X6 1/2 inches.  Albert Huie (1920-2010) was a seminal figure in the formation and development of a national Jamaican artistic identity, overcoming the hurdles of a colonial-based system of race and class distinctions to become the first native-born Jamaican artist to attain international renown and respect. Working primarily in the areas of landscape, portraiture, and figurative art, he established a multiple award-winning career that spanned seven decades and earned him the title of “the Father of Jamaican Painting.”

This is a fine detailed etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  This image from his Spanish Church series is titled: La Colegiata, Toro, it was created and printed in 1935 in an edition of 153 impressions.  This pencil signed image measures 9 3/4X12 3/4 inches.  It is inscribed, gifted to: Mr. and Mrs Andrew Daglish (The British artist and Friend of Arms)  Printed on an antique laid type paper.  This impression was printed by David Strang, one of Arm's most trusted printers of his editions.

Good friends with James McNeill Whistler, he and his wife co-authored his biography. Pennell was known for his continued experimentation with technique and style, producing cityscapes, landscapes and marine scenes. He also printed many of his own images.
