This is one of the rarest etchings by American artist John Taylor Arms.  This color aquatint etching is titled: Still Waters, created and printed in 1919, in an edition of 7 impressions of this the 5th state.  It is hand signed by both the artist J.T.Arms and the printer Frederick Reynolds.  A beautiful rich impression, printed on a buff toned sheet.  The image measures 6 1/8X4 1/8 inches.  The sheet size measures 17X13 inches.  A very fine early effort by this important American print maker.  The image appears in the Fletcher catalog as image number 28.

This is an original etching by Well known Belle Epoch artist Manuel Robbe (1872-1936) The title of this work is: "Parisienne", it was created and printed in 1906 in an edition of 200, published by Georges Petit. The image measures 19 1/2X13 1/2 inches. It is signed in pencil lower left within the image. A fine impression, previously sold by Merrill Chase galleries. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris.
With his hand application of color no two images look exactly the same, a very painterly technique.

This is a fine early printing of the well known etching, Bibi Valentin by American artist James M Whistler.  This etching created in 1859  is impression II/II before the plate was damaged.  It came to us with the original Kappel label on the back.  A fine rich impression printed on a thin laid japan type paper.  Signed  and dated within the plate.  Glascow 34.

This dramatic scene by Arthur Brisco measures 8 x 11 3/4 inches and is ink signed and numbered. Published in 1924 on laid paper, cat: Hurst-94, framed. Briscoe was one of the finest marine artists' of the 20th. century. He studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.

This is an original lithograph by Japanese American artist Yasuo Kuniyoshi.  It is titled The Cyclist.  It was created and printed in 1939 and originally sold through Associated American Artists in New York.  The image measures 12 1/2X8 3/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight wove type paper.  This lithograph is clearly signed in pencil lower right by the artist.  One of his images from his circus series.

This is a very rare first state etching by American artist Frank Benson.  The subject is a portrait of the American violinist and composer Charles Martin Loeffler.  It was created and printed in 1919, with this being one of 6 first state impressions, printed on a laid Van Gelder paper.  The image measures 9 7/8X8 inches, hand signed in pencil, and inscribed first state.  Very fine condition printed in a brown toned ink.  This image appears in the Ordeman catalog as image number 156.  The later published edition numbered only 20 impressions.

TISSOT, JAMES JACQUES JOSEPH (1836 - 1902) "Le Portique de la Galerie Nationale a Londres" (The Portico of the National Gallery, London)  This is an original etching with drypoint published in an edition of 100 in 1878.  The image measures 14 7/8X8 1/4 inches.  Signed within the plate lower right. "This etching is related to the painting London Visitors exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1874, no. 116. The setting is the portico of the National Gallery, looking toward the Church of St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields. Such works give Tissot a minor but distinguished position as a predecessor of the school of architectural etchers founded on the style of Whistler’s Thames and Venice etchings. This etching was exhibited at the Grosveror Gallery, 1879."  This etching is nicely framed with archival materials.

This is a fine original etching by American artist John Sloan.  The title is: Sculpture in Washington Square, created and printed in  1925 in an edition of 100, printed with a blue toned ink.  Pencil signed titiled and numbered in the lower border.  Printed on a medium weight wove type sheet.  This image appears in the Sloan catalog as image number 218.  The title refers to the Garialdi statue by the Washington Arch in Washington Square.

THis is a fine color aquatint etching by French artist Louis Icart.  The title is: La robe de chine,( The Silk Robe) created and printed in  1926, published by Les Graveurs Modernes, 194 rue de Rivoli, Paris.  The image measures 15X18 1/4 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right also with the windmill blindstamp and copyright information in the upper left corner.  Very rich color remains, nice condition..This image appears in the Holland catalog as number 276.

This is a fine original mezzotint by American artist Reynold Weidenaar.  The subject is: "Bridge Builders, Mackinac Straits", created and printed in  1956, published by the Society of American Etchers in an edition of 243.  This mezzotint is hand signed and titled in pencil.  The image measures 12 11/16X6 7/8 inches.  One of his most important works.

This is an original color aquatint etching by French artist Georges Rouault (1871-1958)  The title of this image is "Le Clown a la Grosse Caisse"(Clown with a Big Chest)  it was created and printed in 1930 in an edition of 270.  Unsigned as issued.  This image was part of his well known series titled "Cirque".  The image measures 12 1/8X8 1/4 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type paper. Rives, BFK.. This series was printed by Ambroise Vollard, in Paris.  This image appears in the Chapon-Rouault catalog as image number 200..Very fine condition, richly inked.  This etching is Nicely framed with linnen matting and a fine Gilt Moulding.

This is an original mezzotint by British artist Sir Frank Short.  The title is: "Moonrise on the Bure"  This mezzotint was printed in 1922, the image measures 11X15 7/8 inches, printed on a medium weight wove type paper, pencil signed lower right and monogrammed in the plate lower left corner.  A beautiful rich impression, very subtle tonal range throughout.  Beautiful condition.
