Recent Acquisitions

This is a pencil signed etching by French artist Charles Maurin.  Created circa 1900 this image is a View of Monmartre, Paris.  The image measures 5X5 1/2 inches.  Richly printed on a buff toned sheet.  Nicely framed with archival boards.

This is an original etching with drypoint by French artist James Jacques Joseph Tissot.  Created and printed in 1883 this image is titled: Le Journal, The image measures 14 7/8X11 3/8.  Signed with the artist's red monogram stamp in the lower left border.  The sheet size measures 22X15 inches, deckeled edges on two sides.  Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet, inscribed as 6th state of 7.  Signed and dated in the plate lower right.  One of his finest Belle Epoque Parisian style.  This etching is presented with a period Foster Brothers Gilt Carved frame.

This is a finely detailed original etching by American artist John Taylor Arms.  This etching is titled: Louviers Lace, Porte Du Bapteme, Eglise Nortre Dame, Louviers created and printed in 1936.  Pencil signed and Editioned as 100 of the third state, printed by William Strang.  This image measures 12 1/8X3 3/8 inches.  Fletcher 303 from his French Church Series.  Nicely framed with archival boards.

This is a fine original etching with drypoint by British artist William Lionel Wyllie.  This image is of the HMS Victory Firing the Salute in Portsmouth Harbour, created and printed circa 1920, hand signed in pencil this image measures 8 3/8X19 1/4 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet.  Very fine condition.  HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate wooden sailing ship of the line. With 247 years of service as of 2025, she is the world's oldest naval vessel still in commission.

This is a large original pencil signed and titled lithograph by American artist Mark Freeman.  This image is titled: Manhattan Cliffs, printed in 1947 in an edition of only 30 proofs.  This image  measures 19 1/2X15 inches.  This composition is one that he created in multiple versions including in color.  This is a rare impression of one of his best known images.  Matted not framed .

This painting is identified on the back, an oil on canvas adhered to an artist board.  It reads: "Sunset Off Cuba"  August 1861.  Painted by George Teni...? We think it is the work of   the British artist George F Teniswood (1820-1892)    The painting measures 8X11 inches.  Unsigned, in a gold  period frame.  Teniswood was known to sign and title his works on the back and to do small landscape and seascape studies.

This is a fine collaboration between Kerr Eby and John Taylor Arms.  This image is titled; Medieval Pageantry, it was created and printed in 1933 in an edition of 100, 50 to Arms and 50 to Eby.  The image measures 12 5/8X8 5/8 inches.  Hand signed in pencil lower right by both artists.  This image appears in the Giardina catalog as image number 179.  The subject is Sainte Radegonde in Poitiers, France.  This etching was printed on an antique laid type sheet, cold toned.  Collectors stamps on the back of the sheet.

This is an original pencil signed and titled wood engraving by American artist Leo Meissner.  The title is: New England, Created circa 1940.  The image measures 6X9 inches.  Nicely framed with archival materials.

This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Auguste Lepere.  The title is: Nivellement de la Place Maubert, (leveling of La Place Maubert) created and printed in 1890 in an edition of 30 of which this one is numbered as 14.  The image measures 6 3/8X6 1/4 inches. Printed on a buff toned laid type sheet.  Cat. LB 14.  Place Maubert is an open air market in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, near Notre Dame.

This is an original pencil signed etching by French artist Auguste Lepere.  The title is: Cite des Chiffonniers, (City of Rag Pickers) created and printed in 1895 in an edition of 30 proofs.  This is numbered as 2 of the 30.  The image measures 8 1/2X10 1/8 inches.  Printed on a medium weight laid type sheet.  Cat. Lotz-Brissonneau 102.  From the collection of Georges Petitdidier.

This is an original oil on canvas painting, 19th century of a Lake View with Sailboat.  This work was created circa 1880.  The painting measures 6X8 inches housed in a fine 19th century gilt frame.  The overall frame measures 11X13 inches.  The canvas is laid to an artist board backing.  No apparent signature, but finely done.

This is an original etching by Swedish artist Anders Zorn.  The title is De Tva, created and printed in 1916.  Hand signed in pencil .Printed on a wove type sheet with the Van Gelder Zonen watermark.  The image measures 7 7/8X5 7/8 inches.  This image from his nude series is number 278 in the Hjeret catalog.

This is a fine original etching with aquatint by American artist Ronau William Woiceske.  This Winter image is titled: Silent Night, created and printed in 1935 in an edition of 60.  This impression is hand signed titled and editioned in pencil.  Printed on a medium weight Umbria Italia watermarked wove type sheet.  This image appears in the 1935 edition of Fine Prints of the Year.  A beautiful impression .

This is a fine original pencil signed etching by British artist Chares F. Tunnicliffe.  The image of men repairing the thatched roof is titled: The New Rick.  It was created and printed in an edition of 75 in 1927.  The image measures 8X10 inches.  Hand signed and numbered in pencil 2/75.  A fine image by this important British artist and printmaker.
