This is an original etching by French Master Georges Rouault. The title of this work is: "Sunt lacrymae rerum " ( There are tears in things ) This etching and aquatint was created for the Miserere series in 1926 as image number 27. . The platemark measures 24 1/4 17 1/2 inches. It was published in an edition of 450 on arches wove type paper by Ambroise Vollard. His Vollard watermark appears in the sheet. The etching is signed and dated in the image in the lower right. This etching was never hand signed by the artist.

This etching was published by Ambroise Vollard in an edition of 450 and has his Vollard watermark in the sheet. The image is plate signed G. Rouault,1923 lower left in the image. This etching was never hand signed by the artist. It appears in the Wofsy catalog as image number 124. The platemark measures 22X17 inches, The condition is excellent no tears, or stains. This etching is not framed.

This is an original etching by American artist John Marin.  The image is titled: Canal St. Pietro Venice,  it was created and printed in 1907 in an edition of 30.  This pencil signed impression measures a platemark of 4 3/4X6 1/4 inches.  From 1905-1910 Marin worked in Europe where he was under the influence of Whistler and Alfred Stieglitz.  This image appears in the Zigrosser catalog as image number 51.  A rare etching by this important American artist.  Beautifully Framed with linen matting.

This is an original etching by American artist James Whistler.  The title is: "La Marchande de Moutarde"  It was part of the series titled: "The French Set", published and printed in 1858.  This etching is signed lower left corner of the image, printed on a thin Japan type laid paper.  According to the Glascow catalog this is state V/V before the plates cancellation.  The image measures 6 1/4X3 1/2 inches.

This is an original etching by American artist Stephen Parrish.  The title is A Gale at Fecamp, it was created and printed in 1886.  The image including the remarques measures 13 3/4X15 3/4 inches.  It is hand signed in pencil and also has the artist's estate stamp in the lower left border.  This is Parrish's only etching with such complete remarques.  Showing the influence of French artist Felix Buhot.  The remarques revel Parrish's lively sense of humor, showing sketches of books with such titles as Philadelphia as a Summer Resort, Etching in Summer and other gems.  This is a very rare etching by Parrish, and is from a trip he took to Fecamp in 1884.

This is one of the finest works by John Taylor Arms etching and aquatint.  It was created and printed in 1940 as image number 1 of his Scandinavian Series.  Pencil signed twice, dedicated to William Schaldach, lower border.  The image measures 7 9/16X13 9/16 inches.  It appears in the Fletcher catalog as image number 346.  It is the third state of three from the edition of 330 impressions.  Printed by David Strang.  This image won 5 prizes between 1941-1948,  Incredible detail, nicely framed with archival materials.

This 1927 marine etching by the British printmaker Arthur Briscoe measures 9 7/8 x 15 7/8 inches, hand signed in inked and editioned as 58/75. Briscoe studied at the Slade Art School and the Academy Julian in Paris and then spent the rest of his time sailing, becoming one of the most prominent British marine artists of the 20th century. He owned his own three ton cutter which he used to sail around the Essex coast. Also crewing on a Polish ship, he sketched every aspect of life on the boat. Most of Briscoe's etchings show sailing ships and the men who sailed them. His beautifully etched images present an invaluable historical record of the workings of the last great commercial vessels.
