This is an original drypoint etching by well known American artist and Architect Samuel Chamberlain.  The title is: Valley of the Var,  The location is Entrevaux, France.  This image was created and printed in 1940, it is pencil signed and editioned as: 5/100.  Printed with a warm toned ink, the image measures 10 7/8X13 3/16 inches.  This image appears in the Chamberlain catalog as image number 132.

This is a fine original etching by Brtish Marine artist Arthur Briscoe.  The title is: The Bowsprit.  This etching is hand signed with pen and ink. It is also numbered as 22/75, the image measures 8 3/4X13 7/8 inches.  This etching was printed on an antique laid type sheet.  A few inherent flaws in original to the sheet, unobtrusive.  A fine dramatic image of the men stowing the Jib on the bowsprit.

This c. 1920 drypoint etching by the American artist, Warren Davis, measures 7 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches and is pencil signed on the lower right. Warren Davis studied at the Art Students League in New York and became known for his etchings of idealized female figures, many of which were used on the covers of Vanity Fair and Life magazines. Later in his career Davis exhibited in Europe and the United States including the Pennsylvania Academy and the Salmagundi Club.

Rosenberg studied architecture at the University of Oregon before moving into architectural etching, studying at the American Academy in Rome and the Royal College of Art in London. The majority of his work was of European buildings with historic significance.

This is a fine original ink and watercolor painting by American artist Louis Orr.  This view of a Paris Courtyard is signed and dated lower right, Louis Orr, Paris, 1919.  The work measures 19 1/2X12 1/2 inches.  Very nice condition, rich color.  This painting is framed.  Orr was one of the most famous American artists in France.  He worked as an illustrator for the French Army in World War I...His works are in the Louvre.

This atmospheric winter scene by the American artist, Ronau Woiceske measures 8 3/8 x 11 inches, pencil signed and titled. Woiceske was born in Bloomington Indiana and studied at the St Louis School of Fine Arts and at the Artist Colony in Woodstock, NY with Birge Harrison and John Carlson. He was involved in the WPA, and became known for his atmospheric etchings of snowy winter scenes. He was a member of the Philadelphia Print Club and the National Association of Etchers.

This is a fine original etching by British artist James McBey.  This subject is The Sussex, it was created and printed in 1916.  On March 24, 1916 a German Submarine attacked the French passenger steamer called The Sussex which was then beached with the Bow blown off.  The procession showing the removing of the more than 50 people killed in the attack.  The image measures 8 3/16X15 1/8 inches.  Hand signed in sepia ink from an edition of 76.  Illustrated in Lumsden, The Art of Etching..This impression has the number I.  Printed on a laid "whatman" watermarked sheet.

This is a fine original oil on canvas painting by French impressionist artist Adolphe J.T. Monticelli (1824-1886)  The subject is A fine family setting at the Beach.  The painting is signed Monticelli lower right, the painting measures 12 1/4X10 1/4 inches.  This work is in fine condition, cleaned and lined in the past, it is very presentable, it is house in an ebonized black frame.  "Monticelli was born in Marseille in humble circumstances. He attended the École Municipale de Dessin in Marseille from 1842 to 1846, and continued his artistic training in Paris, where he studied under Paul Delaroche at the École des Beaux-Arts. In Paris In 1855 he met Narcisse Diaz, a member of the Barbizon school, and the two often painted together in the Fontainebleau Forest. Monticelli frequently adopted Diaz's practice of introducing nudes or elegantly costumed figures into his landscapes."

This is a fine original wood engraving after Homer, published in Harpers Weekly in September 20, 1873.  This is a wood engraving with the original Harpers written story on the back of the sheet.  This is perhaps the best known of the large double paged images that were ever done for Harpers.  The image measures 13 9/16X 20 5/8 inches on a total sheet size of 15 15/16X21 7/8 inches.  Very nice condition, museum  matted and framed.  The title Snap the Whip, after the painting by Winslow Homer.  This image was engraved by W.
