This is an original engraving by French artist Jean Emile Laboureur. This engraving was created and printed in 1920. One of 6 pencil signed impressions prior to publication in L'Architectures in an edition of 500 unsigned impressions. The image measures 11 5/8X8 1/8 inches. Hand signed in pencil lower left. Very nicely framed with a linen matting. This is one of his largest images done in his distinctly cubist style.

Davenport, President of The Machinists' Bank, Taunton, Massachusetts, in an envelope affixed to the back of the painting. Provenance: Estate of N. David Scotti, Providence, Rhode Island.
This is a very fine original drypoint and aquatint color etching by French artist Manuel Robbe. The title is: Les Baigneuses (The Bathers). THis image wascreated and printed in 1911, published by Cercle de la Librarie in an ediiton of 200. This one is number 69. Printed on a medium weight arches wove type paper, The Librrie blind stamp lower left and hand signed in pencil. The image measures 15 3/8X22 1/4 inches. The catalog lists this image as Merrill-Chase 102. Excellent condition with a small repair in the lower border well away from the image area.

Printed on a thin laid type paper. Very richly inked, the Fifth state of Six. An early rich inking. Good condition, there is a tear upper right corner of the border, away from the image area. Enough border for proper presentation.

Ramsay Reinagle first studied under his father, Phillip Reinagle, before going on to study in Italy, Holland, and Rome. Reinagle painted portraits, historical subjects, animals, and landscapes. He exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Society of Painters in Watercolours.

The image printed on a thin Japan type paper has in image size of 7 5/8X12 1/2 inches. Extensive use of plate tone, a rich impression, This impression is the 6th state of 6 prior to the cancellation of the plate. It was created in 1861 as part of his series, "The Thames Set" It appears in the Kennedy catalog as image number 68. A fine image in very nice condition.
This is an impressionistic original color etching and aquatint by French master of the Belle Epoch, Manuel Robbe (French 1872-1936) The title of this work is:
"Le Bouquet de Violettes", it was created and printed in 1903 in the first edition of only 65 signed proofs. A larger edition was published after the signature was added to the plate. This etching is hand signed in pencil lower right. The image measures 17 1/2X11 3/4 inches. A fine impression, previously sold by Merrill Chase galleries, it appears in the Chase catalog as image number 105. Robbe studied at the Academie Julien and the Ecole des Beaux Artes in Paris.
With his hand application of color no two images look exactly the same, a very painterly technique.
This is an original oil on Canvas painting of a Grand Child''s Birthday present. The painting is signed lower right corner but not easy to make out. It looks like H. J. ..........? The canvas measures 17X14 inches and came in a fine period gilt frame. There is one repaired tear in the lower center of the canvas and some cracking to the paint. Over all a very fine painting highly detailed. Guaranteed to be a mid to late 19th century work. Most likely British or American origins...

This is an original etching by American artist James Whistler. The title: "Fumette", was created and printed in 1858, as part of the series, "The French Set" The image measures 6 1/2X4 1/4 inches. This is the 5th state of 5 which includes the printers address in the lower left corner of the image.
The name whistler is plate signed lower right. Framed. This impression is very richly inked with extensive plate tone in the backgroun of the subject.
Eloise ('Fumette') (fl. 1840-1858). Éloise - also called Héloïse - posed for Fumette, Whistler's first partner, Héloïse was a grisette, a vivid and fiery character. A grisette, as described in Henri Murger's Scènes de la vie de Bohème (1848/1851) and Alfred de Musset's poem Mimi Pinson (1845), was a working girl, a young seamstress or milliner, fun-loving and faithful as a lover.
